Armandy and co
F1-Industrial silk center

The Armandy & Co silk industrial establishments were founded in 1850 by David Armandy (1807 – 1878), an ambitious hard-working, native of Taulignan. Armandy understood the advantage of controlling all the steps in the industrial process and created a veritable silk industrial centre in Taulignan. In order to guarantee stable and cheap labor, he established a model housing system for his workers.

The history of the Armandy family and of these “orphanage factories” is presented in a film in the video screening room.
